Integrated Counselling Approaches
FLOAT ONE Wellbeing CIC is a community‑interest company based in Glasgow that provides funded access to float therapy, full spectrum infrared sauna sessions, and BACP‑aligned counselling for people experiencing mental health challenges and financial hardship.
Funded sessions are for adults and young people aged 16+ who have a diagnosed mental health condition (such as anxiety, depression, PTSD or chronic stress) and cannot afford to self‑fund private wellbeing support. Priority is given to people living in Glasgow City.
No, you do not need a GP referral. You can self‑refer using our online form. However, we also welcome referrals from GPs, social prescribers, mental health teams and third‑sector organisations where this feels helpful.
Most people are offered up to 6 funded sessions to begin with. This might be counselling, float therapy, infrared sauna, or a combination. We review your progress with you and, if funding allows, may extend support where there is clear ongoing need.
We aim to contact you within 48 hours for a short eligibility call (around 10 minutes). If you are eligible, you will then have a brief consultation with a BACP‑registered psychotherapist to agree the best plan for you and book your first session.
Float therapy involves lying in a private pod filled with warm Epsom‑salt water so you float effortlessly. The space is quiet and low‑light, helping your body and mind deeply relax. Many people report reduced anxiety, better sleep and less muscle tension after a course of sessions.
A full spectrum infrared sauna uses gentle infrared heat (rather than steam) to warm the body directly. This can help with muscle relaxation, pain, circulation, stress relief and sleep. Temperatures are lower than a traditional sauna, so many people find it easier to tolerate.
Yes. We offer one‑to‑one counselling with BACP‑registered therapists. Counselling can be your main support, or it can be combined with float therapy and/or infrared sauna to create a holistic plan.
We carry out a short health and eligibility screen before booking. Some conditions (such as unmanaged epilepsy, active psychosis, severe mania, open wounds or early pregnancy for sauna use) may mean we need to delay or adapt sessions. Safety is always our priority.
No. Our service is designed to complement, not replace, your existing mental health care. With your consent, we can share a brief update with your GP or referrer so everyone is on the same page.
No. You choose what you share and at what pace. Counselling sessions are led by your goals, and you can use float or sauna sessions just as quiet restorative time if you prefer.
For eligible people, funded sessions are free at the point of use. If you are not eligible, you can still book paid sessions directly with FLOAT ONE Therapy Centre.
We are based at FLOAT ONE Therapy Centre, Unit 22, Roadway 1, Morris Park, 37 Rosyth Road, Glasgow G5 0YD, with free parking and ground‑floor, wheelchair‑accessible facilities.
For float or sauna sessions, you are welcome to bring a swimsuit if you prefer (many people float nude) and any personal toiletries you like. Towels are provided. For counselling, just bring yourself—notes or questions are optional.
You can apply via our online form at https://cic.floatone.co.uk/ (https://cic.floatone.co.uk/)or ask your GP or support worker to complete a referral with your consent. For any questions, email info@floatone.co.uk.(mailto:info@floatone.co.uk)
