Community wellbeingABOUT FLOAT ONE WELLBEING CIC
FLOAT ONE Wellbeing CIC is a Glasgow Community Interest Company created to widen access to integrated mental wellbeing support.
Its purpose is distinct from commercial wellness: programmes are shaped around public benefit, responsible delivery and barriers that prevent people accessing support.
WHY THE CIC EXISTS
Therapeutic support can be difficult to access because of cost, waiting times, uncertainty or the practical pressure of everyday life.
Our model combines structured conversation with restorative environments and reflection. It is intended to create a supported journey rather than present any single experience as a complete solution.
Funded and subsidised programmes may be developed with community organisations, referrers, commissioners and funders.
OUR DELIVERY PRINCIPLES
Delivery begins with participant needs, informed choice and clear boundaries—not a predetermined service pathway.
Funded and subsidised places are designed to reduce financial and practical barriers without making people feel defined by them.
Counselling, restorative experiences and creative reflection each have a clear role and appropriate professional boundaries.
Feedback and proportionate outcome evidence are used to improve programmes and demonstrate community value.
HOW ACCOUNTABILITY WORKS
These principles guide the development of formal policies, partnership agreements and programme controls.
Directors are responsible for strategy, public benefit, risk, conflicts of interest and the organisation’s statutory duties.
Counselling delivery requires appropriate professional standards, confidentiality and safeguarding arrangements.
Programme income and expenditure should be recorded clearly, with surplus applied to the CIC’s community purpose.
Any connected-party relationship is identified, documented and managed through proportionate governance controls.
RELATIONSHIP WITH FLOAT ONE LTD
FLOAT ONE Wellbeing CIC and FLOAT ONE Ltd are separate legal entities. Where the CIC purchases facilities or services from FLOAT ONE Ltd, the arrangement should be documented, managed for conflicts and made on fair, transparent terms.
The CIC remains responsible for its programme purpose, governance, safeguarding, finances and community-benefit reporting.
